Field Service Technician II

Title: On-Site PM Field Service Technician II (Abatement & UHV pump PM service)

What You Will Do:

The Field Service Technician, onsite with GlobalFoundries, is responsible for providing product support and technical know-how to customers at assigned customer site/s. Professionalism and customer support are critical to the success of the HIS Innovations Group. Installation of HIS designed and built integrated vacuum solutions, coupled with troubleshooting and problem solving will be key.

• Follow inspection, safety, work scope criteria defined in work instructions, drawings, schematics, or other technical data as required in HIS or customer documentation.
• Review product pump & abatement documentation and learn about each manufacturer's pump & abatement operations, repair and maintenance.
• Perform maintenance tasks including pump change outs, abatement ADT drain tank changeout, head rebuild, leak tests, troubleshoot test failures, etc.
• Collaborate with other team members and the Site lead in establishing priorities and ensure customer due dates are met for all PM tasks within the Sub-Fab & Fab areas at customer site.
• Communicate to HIS management any issues that will result in PM team missing customer PM due dates.
• Communicate to HIS management any changes that need to be made on future designs, PM instructions, support tooling/handling apparatus, PPE/safety protocols for ongoing continuous improvement.

The On-Site Support Technician will need to work as part of a team, and have a strong work ethic, including a strong desire to follow safety protocols, get it done right and on time. Daily correspondence with relevant manager via email and or phone calls will be required to ensure HIS delivery is met on its scope of work for the PM tasks scheduled by customer PCS team.

What You Need to Have:

• Demonstrated ability to understand and/or learn to read detailed electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to wear appropriate level I, II, III PPE for up to 8 hours per shift.
• Demonstrated ability to use, respirator, FR suit, hand tools, some power tools, and work safely while in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written instructions accurately and consistently.
• Ability to work very well within a team environment and ability to effectively communicate with both team members and the customer technicians.
• Initiative to work independently upon completion of training and meet a demanding customer PM task schedule.

Travel requirements:

5% -10% as needed

Education and Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma.
• AS degree in a technical discipline, preferred. Full military and/or semiconductor industry experience equivalent may substitute for AS degree.
• Relevant previous chemical handling, PPE/respirator usage, OEM equipment PM experience.
• Language Fluency: English (Written & Verbal)
• Basic computer skills including Excel and Outlook

Shift Pattern:

• Roles is regular work week (Mon-Thurs.) 10 hr. shift.

Location: HIS Innovations group Headquarters is located in Hillsboro, Oregon and is just 10 minutes west of Downtown Portland. This position will be on site at Tier 1 Semiconductor Facility in Malta, NY location.
