Job Summary:
The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and facilities to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. This role requires a hands-on individual with strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and equipment, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems as needed to ensure efficient operation.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule to minimize equipment downtime and extend the lifespan of machinery.
- Document maintenance activities and maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections.
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions to minimize production disruption.
- Collaborate with production teams to coordinate repairs with minimal impact on operations.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
- Participate in safety trainings and promote a culture of safety within the workplace.
- Monitor and maintain inventory levels of maintenance supplies and spare parts, placing orders as necessary.
- Assist in identifying and recommending improvements to maintenance processes and procedures.
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to support equipment upgrades and modifications.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other staff members as needed.
- Some travel will be required as needed, up to 25%.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance, mechanics, or a related field preferred.
- Must have at least 2 years experience with VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drive).
- 3-5 years of manufacturing maintenance experience or equivalent required.
- 5 years heating, air, and electrical experience required.
- Electrician license or similar required.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, with a solid understanding of industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with maintenance management software and inventory control systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, as needed.
- Background in paint manufacturing is a plus.
