Position : Senior Business Analyst

The Team :
The Hiscox USA Digital Operations and Business Transformation team creates innovative solutions to improve the customer experience and drive digital growth. We are on a journey to optimize our digital platforms while transitioning to an agile, value-stream based delivery model.
About You :
You'll be an experienced Business Analyst who is business savvy and collaborative, someone who enjoys working with Business Sponsors, Product Owners, Architects, Technical BA & Engineers and other stakeholders to plan and execute analysis activities to deliver valuable outcomes for the business.
You will have 5-8 years' experience in the Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance industry . This role will be critical in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, with a focus on building configurable applications and managing business rules to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of project and value stream outcomes in our Digital Operations and Business Transformation portfolio, giving you broad exposure to how the US business operates, from the front line through to the back-office functions and the technology that supports our ability to deliver superb service to our customers.
Our projects can be driven by process improvement, integration of new ventures and delivery of regulatory requirements. The outputs of the projects can vary from large scale system delivery and upgrades to smaller, tactical solutions that open up business opportunities.
What You'll Do :
Requirements Gathering and Analysis :
- Build a strong understanding of end-to-end user journeys & processes, their supporting technologies
- Accurately and efficiently elicit, challenge, and document scope, processes & requirements while bringing the end user / s along the change journey
- Produce high quality business and technical analysis deliverables, including but not limited to, user stories, functional and non-functional specifications, as is' and 'to be' process models
- Ensure traceability of requirements and user stories throughout the entire change lifecycle
- Apply BA best practice and insights that challenge the business to think about the "right" solution
Application Development and Configuration :
Develop, document and maintain business rules for underwriting and policy management processesPartner with stakeholders to review and update rules to reflect regulatory and market changesCollaborate with IT to implement business rules within configurable insurance systems to ensure seamless integrationStakeholder Communication & Collaboration :
Build relationships and trust with senior stakeholders, understanding goals, objectives and desired outcomes, and bringing them on the journey of engagementMaintain a close working relationship with partners in Operations, Technology, and the business.Communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences and vice versaProject Management Support :
Support project managers and / or scrum masters in defining BA related project scope, timelines and deliverablesProvide detailed documentation and reporting on BA work including risks and issuesAssist with user training, change management and post implementation supportOur Must Haves :
Minimum 5 years of experience operating as a Business Analyst or Senior Business Analyst with P&C industry experienceFamiliarity with insurance policy administration systems, claims platforms and underwriting toolsProven experience of eliciting requirements, documenting and delivering high quality business analysis deliverablesStrong understanding of business rules management and experience implementing rules in core insurance systemsAbility to facilitate a team to consensus on scope, design decisions, and implementation decisionsKnowledge of SQL and data analysisAbility to ask strong questions to help the team see areas that may lead to problemsExperience of translating business requirements into technical design, supported by development teamsExperience using Business Analysis tools, techniques and methodologies in a mix of delivery frameworks - including AgileExperience working with cross-functional agile teams and making prioritization and roadmap recommendationsAbility to build strong working relationships across the business, technology and third-party software houses and / or technology providersOutstanding verbal and non-verbal communication skillsEvidence of applying "soft" influencing, persuasion and consultancy skills that will influence scope & design, helping to ensure the project outcomes move the business forward towards the strategic ambitionA passion for Change and the value Change brings to the businessHighly results driven, with the energy and determination to succeed in a fast-paced environment where the speed of response is critical to successOur Nice to Haves :
