Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide catheter care and support with personal hygiene needs.
- Monitor and document patient health status, including vital signs and changes in condition.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, particularly those with dementia or in hospice care.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers to ensure their safety.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with medical equipment when necessary.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, adhering to all health protocols.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home health care or assisted living is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices is essential.
- Certification in CPR is required; additional certifications in dementia care or hospice care are a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting or moving patients safely.
