About the Role:
The Senior Counselor plays a pivotal role in providing high-quality mental health support and guidance to clients, ensuring their emotional and psychological well-being. The senior counselor position in the Transitional Support for Emerging Adults will have the opportunity to support youth ages 17-21 transitioning into adulthood. Those that enjoy working with the young adult population will be trained in a model specific program to coach, support, and guide young adults in securing housing, employment, developing appropriate adult relationships, pursuing educational or vocational opportunities, and developing life skills to be able to successfully negotiate adult life. The senior counselor will receive ongoing training and supervision and be part of team passionate about working with young adults
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience working with young adults and at-risk youth.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Valid Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify clients' needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
- Monitor and evaluate clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and community resources to coordinate care and support for clients.
- Mentor and supervise junior counselors, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
