JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Exhibit Hall Visitor Services
Location: Historic Pullman Exhibit Hall, 11141 South Cottage Grove Avenue in Chicago
Commitment: At least one four hour shift per week
Reports To: Program Director/Volunteer Coordinator
OVERVIEW
Historic Pullman Foundation is seeking passionate and friendly people to serve as Exhibit Hall Visitor Guides. Our volunteers engage with the public, share the fascinating history of the Pullman Company and community. They help bring the remarkable stories of this historic place to life. No experience is required—just a love for history and a desire to connect with others.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet visitors and offer general information about Chicago’s first national park.
- Answer questions and share key insights about exhibits to ensure a welcoming, engaging experience.
- Assist visitors with wayfinding information and basic inquiries.
- Support occasional special events and educational programs.
- Assist with gift shop sales and event check-in.
IDEAL CANDIDATES
- Enjoys history, storytelling, and engaging with all kinds of people.
- Comfortable speaking with visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
- Dependable, friendly, and willing to learn.
- No experience needed—we can train you.
