What are the responsibilities and job description for the Restaurant Server position at Historic Santa Maria Inn?
The purpose of a RESTAURANT SERVER is to serve food and/or beverages to guests according to hotel standards and in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure knowledge of menu and restaurant promotions and specials, including ingredients and preparation.
- Respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
- Take guest food and/or beverage orders and input orders in appropriate point-of-sale system.
- Retrieve and deliver food and beverage orders in a timely manner.
- Ensure guest satisfaction throughout the meal service.
- Serve alcohol/non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with federal, state, local and company regulations. Must be RBS certified.
- Ensure serving station is well-stocked at all times.
- Perform side work and any other duties as designated by supervisor.
- Maintains regular attendance, is consistently on time, and observes prescribed work, break and meal periods in compliance with standards.
- Maintains high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include compliance with the dress code.
- Performs any other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Shifts would include Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Physical Demands of the Job:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, to handle, feel or take hold of objects, and to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, & stoop, kneel or bend. The employee may be required to lift up to 40 lbs. Accommodations for qualified candidates can be made.
1 Year of Serving experience and 3-5 years of restaurant experience preferred.
