Your Role: As an Event Housekeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness of our Theatre. You will work closely with other team members to ensure that restrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces (dressing rooms) are spotless before, during, and after events. Your reliability and attention to detail are essential as you follow timelines and proper procedures when using chemicals and equipment.
Reports to: House Manager/Custodial Manager
Responsibilities:
- Post-show cleaning of Theatre auditorium, lobby, dressing rooms, and back and front of house.
- Clean and sanitize a variety of surfaces, including bathroom fixtures, walls, baseboards, floors, windows, seats, etc.
- Restock towels, soap, and other supplies/amenities in restrooms and storage rooms.
- Vacuum rugs and floors.
- Stock housekeeping cart and hand caddy.
- Empty wastebaskets and ashtrays.
- Dust furniture and fixtures.
- Wash, dry, and fold laundry.
- Communicate supply order needs to the Custodial Manager.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform strenuous work for long periods of time, such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, and climbing.
- Standing and Walking: Extended periods of standing and walking are required.
- Use of Ladders: Use ladders when required.
- Physical Endurance: Ability to withstand long events, especially during setup, execution, and teardown.
- Mobility and Dexterity: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Hearing: Ability to hear clearly in different environments, including in person, by phone, and over other sounds to understand and distinguish speech and/or other sounds.
- Vision: Clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less.
- Exposure to Hazards: Potential exposure to human blood pathogens or infectious materials.
- Hours: Ability to work varied hours, often late nights, to complete tasks.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent desirable.
- One year of comparable work is preferred.
