Import Export Specialist
This role supports the Hitachi group in complying with import/export laws and regulations. The Import/Export Office provides guidance on a wide variety of regulatory compliance issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classify imported product for Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes and exported product for Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), Schedule B numbers, and licensing requirements.
- Evaluate government agency requirements including Food and Drug Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and Department of Transportation.
- Validate export screenings and perform sanctions and restricted party screening of entities and transactions via the use of third-party screening tool.
- Maintain SAP S/4 HANA system and other internal databases with correct Import and Export information.
- Develop and deliver training content to promote compliance awareness within the organization.
Requirements:
- 5-6 years of experience in import and/or export compliance field.
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, trade compliance or related field preferred.
- Experience using global trade management platforms (e.g., Visual Compliance).
- Experience with Automated Export Systems (AES) filings with US Census Bureau.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
