Position Summary:
This position will be part of the xEV Drive Unit team for Electric Vehicle products and will be responsible for the Drive Unit Production Control and Logistics group. The purpose of the PC&L Staff position is to activities set by the PC&L Manager based on the goals of the plant and the department / division. This position is responsible for adherence to departmental and company policies and procedures including NPI project management guidelines and mass production support. The xEV Drive Unit PC&L Staff assocaite will provide support for the development, installation, launch and mass production by providing logistical support while also ensuring smooth part procurement, part flow and shipments for the Drive Unit production line. This position offers opportunities to work with a wide variety of departments and levels of management within the company both domestic and international.
Essential functions of this job include:
Buying activity for procurement of mass production and non-production items as required per production plan.
Production planning activity to ensure that production plans meet customer order requirements in alignment with inventory levels (FG and supplied components).
Manage the plant ERP system for Purchasing and Planning activities.
Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
2-Year College Degree or commensurate experience in Operations, Distribution, Supply-Chain, or Purchasing disciplines
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
Experience establishing/maintaining production logistics flows from supply base through customer delivery
Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, and ERP system
Excellent communication skills
Flexible in working shifts as required to meet production schedules
Familiarity with manufacturing processes
Preferred Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):
4-year College Degree concentrating in Supply Chain or Business fields of study
Advanced experience with ERP preferred

Ability to work flexible schedule including all shifts and days as needed
Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting
Standing, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday
Ability to lift 35lbs from floor to a height of 4ft

Description of Duties and Responsibilities

Production Planning – Based on customer communication of Long Term, Monthly, Weekly, Daily customer needs to ensure On-Time Delivery -15%
Ensure inventory levels are in line with forecasted requirements -15%
Purchase Supplied parts from overseas and domestic suppliers -15%
Communicate with overseas and domestic suppliers for requirements, forecasts and delivery schedules -15%
Issue Purchase Orders -15%
Maintain appropriate inventory levels -15%
Other duties as assigned -10%
Production and Location Start-up Duties:
Work within small team to develop new manufacturing location and new processes to support smooth mass production start-up of EV products
Support development of logistics systems, including incoming, component storage, component flow, and outgoing activity
Facilitate installation of Astemo ERP system into facility
Typical NPI duties as detailed by internal Astemo and customer requirements for start-up of new product/location
