Tasks and Responsibilities:
As a Casting Maintenance Technician at Hitachi Astemo Rock Spring, Inc., you will play a critical role in our Casting department, responsible for the maintenance and repairs of casting equipment. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will ensure the continuous and efficient operation of the casting process, contributing to the production of high-quality cast aluminum products. Your technical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to safety will be essential in maintaining and optimizing equipment performance.
- Perform preventative maintenance activities on casting equipment, following established schedules and checklists to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Conduct inspections and troubleshoot equipment issues, implementing appropriate solutions to minimize production downtime.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Engineering team to identify and resolve equipment issues, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
- Record maintenance activities, including repairs performed, parts used, and equipment downtime, in maintenance logs for documentation and analysis.
- Support equipment setup and changeovers, ensuring proper installation and functionality of casting molds.
- Adhere to safety guidelines, procedures, and lockout/tagout protocols during all maintenance activities, fostering a safe work environment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the smooth production flow and on-time delivery of cast parts.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by providing suggestions for process enhancement and equipment optimization.
- Attend training sessions and stay updated on new casting technologies and maintenance best practices.

- Provide regular reports to the Maintenance Supervisor on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and improvements implemented.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor to gather and analyze data for reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy and relevance.
