This role is a hybrid role based in Orlando, Florida
The Role
To excel in this role, candidates should have a strong foundation in computer science with a specialization in Java development. Experience in mentoring junior engineers is essential. Additional expertise in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and big data frameworks (Hadoop) is highly desirable. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure), large-scale data processing and performance tuning will set you apart. You'll collaborate with architects, product managers, usability experts, quality assurance teams, documentation specialists and the open-source community to enhance and advance the Pentaho software suite.
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and test Java software components and classes as part of the Engineering Team using the Scrum development process
- Support the technical support team by isolating and resolving customer issues
- Write and contribute to developer and end-user documentation
- Mentor and guide junior team members
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical project team members
