The Opportunity
Are you passionate about creating safe and sustainable workplaces? Hitachi Energy is looking for a dynamic HSE Specialist to support our Transformer Service regional offices and project sites across the US. This role offers the chance to make a real impact by promoting health, safety, and environmental excellence. With extensive travel to diverse locations, you'll be at the forefront of ensuring compliance and fostering a culture of safety.
How You'll Make an Impact
Promote a strong health, safety, and sustainability culture.
Maintain an effective presence on project sites.
Guide and assist team members in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
Act as a technical resource and advisor to management.
Maintain Health and Safety Management System in conformance to ISO 45001 standards.
Maintain Environmental Management System in conformance to ISO 14001 standards.
Identify health and safety issues and recommend corrective measures.
Lead the performance of Activity Based Risk Assessments (ABRAs).
Note: This position requires extensive travel to urban and rural/remote areas within your geographic area. Estimate travel 70-80% of work time.
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related technical discipline.
3-5 years of HSE work experience, or 8 years of work experience with demonstrated proficiency in safety programs.
Professional HSE certification such as CSP, ASP, CHSM, CHMM, CHST, or OHST highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
Strong knowledge of Federal, State, and Local health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certificate or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
