We are Hitachi Energy, a leading provider of electrical infrastructure solutions. We are seeking a talented Senior R&D Electrical Engineer to join our team in Alamo, TN.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new products and refining our current portfolio of transformer components that meet IEEE standards.
This role will play a crucial part in enhancing the performance of our transformer components and contributing to the success of our North America Regional Technology Center.
Responsibilities and Expectations
- Manage development projects independently to meet time, budget, and quality requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, develop new technical concepts, design new products, and simulate their expected performances.
- Arrange prototyping and testing activities to verify new technologies and products.
- Share knowledge and findings from R&D with production environment both locally and in other facilities abroad.
- Take part in international pre-standardization and standardization work.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, and a proven track record as a project leader.
CAD tools (e.g. Ansys, COMSOL), Windchill, SAP, and MS Office skills are essential, while creative and innovative mindset, willingness to travel, and experience in reducing costs and applying lean-six-sigma method are preferred.
Requirements and Preferences
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
- At least 5 years of Engineering experience.
- Extensive knowledge of IEEE HV insulation components.
- Competence in CAD tools, simulation tools, Windchill, SAP, and MS Office.
- Masters/PhD in electrical engineering or related field.
- Experience as a project leader.
- Experience in reducing costs and applying lean-six-sigma method.
