In this role, you'll support the development of regional energy market reports and act as a customer-facing consultant, leveraging your expertise in long-term electric energy, capacity, REC, and ancillary services price forecasts. You'll stay abreast of the ever-changing energy market, resource adequacy rules, transmission infrastructure developments, renewable energy mandates, and net zero goals. How You'll Make an Impact
- Execute production cost modeling runs and develop long-term price projections for NAM electricity markets.
- Develop energy, ancillary services, capacity, and Renewable Energy Credit (REC) price forecasts.
- Lead and support consulting projects of high complexity.
- Model renewable energy, energy storage, hybrid resources, electric vehicles, demand response, and distributed energy resources
- Design and execute complex North American electricity market scenarios.
- Analyze and present regional power market trends.
- Enhance strategic consulting capabilities with the renewable developer community.
- Help establish client contacts at senior levels
Your Background
- Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant field (Economics, Engineering, Business or Mathematics)
- Postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
- Relevant industry technical certifications are desirable.
- Python programming skills preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in energy market consulting
- Market experience in ERCOT, or PJM, or MISO, or SPP, or CAISO, or NYISO, or ISONE, or IESO, or AESO.
- Expertise in one or more Energy Portfolio Management (EPM) simulation model software products, such as: Production Cost Modelling (Zonal and/or Nodal) , Integrated resource planning, Long-term electricity price forecasting, Capacity Expansion, Asset Valuation and Stochastic analysis
