Summary of the position:
As a Commercial Operations Analyst at Hitachi Global Air Power, a leading compressor manufacturer, your role will be instrumental in supporting the commercial operations team. You will analyze data, provide insights, and optimize business performance to drive operational efficiency, revenue growth, and profitability. With your analytical skills, you will play a critical role in identifying opportunities, improving processes, and ensuring effective decision-making to maximize business outcomes.
This position is located in Chicago, IL, Charlotte, NC, or Michigan City, IN.
Duties and responsibilities:
Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to sales, marketing, and customer trends in the compressor industry.
- Prepare regular reports and dashboards to provide insights on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sales revenue, market share, customer satisfaction, and profitability.
- Identify patterns, trends, and anomalies in data to support strategic decision-making.
Sales and Forecasting Analysis:
- Collaborate with sales teams to analyze sales performance, identify gaps, and recommend strategies to improve sales effectiveness.
- Conduct sales forecasting and demand planning analysis to optimize inventory management and production planning for compressors.
- Evaluate pricing strategies, sales promotions, and discounts to drive revenue growth while maintaining profitability.
Market Research and Competitor Analysis:
- Monitor industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape in the compressor market to identify emerging opportunities or threats.
- Conduct market research and analysis to support new product launches, market expansion, and customer segmentation initiatives.
- Analyze competitor pricing, product offerings, and market positioning to develop competitive strategies.
Process Improvement and Optimization:
- Identify areas for process improvement within the commercial operations function and propose actionable solutions.
- Streamline workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance data integrity to improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain, to implement process improvements and drive alignment.
Systems and Tools Management:
- Manage and maintain data analytics tools, CRM systems, and other commercial operations platforms.
- Ensure data accuracy, troubleshoot issues, and provide user training and support when needed.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies to recommend system enhancements and optimize data analytics capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, statistics, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience as a data analyst, business analyst, or similar role, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) to present insights in a clear and concise manner.
- Familiarity with statistical analysis techniques and tools (e.g., regression analysis, forecasting models) to derive meaningful conclusions from data.
- Solid understanding of sales and marketing principles, supply chain dynamics, and manufacturing operations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and ERP systems is a plus.
Professional experience:
- At least two years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
