Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Supply Chain Planner who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pittsburgh, PA.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Supply Chain Operations Specialist to manage and optimize Supply Chain related operations within our organization (both internally and externally). This role will focus on gathering (and prioritizing) material needs both for the Project and Component side of the business, supporting supplier audits, and having a hand in developing and building our Sales Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) processes. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in supply chain management, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.
Accountabilities:
SIOP and Forecasting (50%):
Obtain hands on experience with the organizations forecasting software to support SIOP processes. Become one of two subject matter experts within the tool.
Have a hand in the development and execution of SIOP strategies to align the cross functional teams within the organization.
Prepare and present SIOP reports, performance metrics, and forecasts to senior leadership as needed.
Supplier Management (25%):
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, both within our Projects and Component Sales business to gather and prioritize urgent supplier material requirements to help meet our customer expectations.
Support Procurement with negotiations via identifying annual component volumes to be used in strategic contract discussions.
Represent Supply Chain in support of Supplier Quality audits and ensure compliance with company standards.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
Operational Excellence (25%):
Identify and implement process improvements in supply chain operations, both internally and externally.
Ensure timely procurement, order management, and inventory control.
Support the resolution of supply chain disruptions and escalate issues when necessary.
Primary liaison from SCM to Quality, Procurement, Operations and when necessary, Sales.
