Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Warehouse Manager in Hagerstown, MD. who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):

Strategically manage warehouse inventory and operations in compliance with
company’s policies and updated global procedures. Accountable person for stock
levels and localization for rail stock operations on site.
  • Lead and supervise warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and evaluating
performance. Motivate the team to meet daily operational targets.
  • Coordinates and monitors materials module in Hitachi ERP system (SAP) in
coordination with warehouse supervisors and warehouse operators.
  • Responsible for on time delivery of production material requirements,
implementing material handling processes that guarantee maximum operational
efficiency and safety.
  • Timely escalation on material shortage issues and identifying root causes for
resolution and future recurrence.
  • Leads and supervises annual physical inventory and cycle counting processes to
ensure compliance and inventory accuracy. Provide analysis of root cause of errors
and initiate corrective action.
  • Coordinates logistics for inbound and outbound deliveries from and/or to external
warehouse, vendors and/or customers.
  • Leads non conform materials logistics for prompt closure.
  • Guarantees on time delivery of materials for manufacturing changes on current
projects.
  • Assists in setting up a materials handling layout to ensure efficient space utilization
and smooth assembly activities.
  • Accountable person in warehouse operations for internal and external audits on
inventory, quality standards and EHS.
  • Provide support to the accounting department on goods received and closure of
issues related to receiving discrepancies.
  • Manages material review for prompt disposition of obsolete, non-conform or
subject to repair/maintenance inventory.
  • Oversee the maintenance and proper use of warehouse equipment, including
forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems.

Job Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Minimum (3 ) years of experience in warehouse management within the manufacturing
industry.
  • Minimum (5 ) years in a managerial role with supervision of supervisors, team leaders and
warehouse operators.
  • Proficient in SAP Materials Management Module. (Key user)
  • Proficient in MS package. Must have strong personal computer skills using Microsoft Office
(focus on Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Proven experience in SAP production planning and quality Module.
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Certification in warehouse management or safety protocols (e.g., OSHA).
  • Experience with automated warehouse systems or robotics.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and ability to multitask.
  • Have a real passion and enthusiasm for deal management in complex project.
  • Proactivity.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment, result oriented
approach, proactivity, autonomy and open mind.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong written and verbal communication
skills.
  • Ability to work under continuous pressure.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Flexibility and adaptability according to specific requirements.
  • Team Player, looking to add value to the organization and being well trusted partner of the
colleagues and/or of the Management.
  • Available for short business travels.
  • Fluent in English.

Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations or Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering or
related field. Strongly Preferred.

In accordance with the DOT’s FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi’s substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.

The salary range for this position is $97,336 to $146,004 per year. Final pay is determined by the candidate’s experience, skillset and ability level, internal equity and location.
