Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated ATC Technician (Wayside ATC) to work on our Honolulu Rail Project. As the successful candidate your ideas for continuous improvement and creativity are welcome. The position is based in Pearl City, HI.
Accountabilities:
- Performs routine, preventive and unscheduled maintenance, inspection, adjustments, testing, cleaning, lubrication and proper maintenance on assigned Signaling and Telecommunication system equipment in accordance with wiring diagrams, schematics, operations and maintenance manuals.
- Observes system components and devices in operation to detect potential failures and locate causes of malfunction.
- Perform troubleshooting, identification and resolution of system and subsystem to support field technicians in the diagnosis and correction of faults.
- Produce accurate maintenance records of track, third rail and related infrastructure, equipment performance, work accomplished, and other information using a computerized maintenance management system
- Analyzes log files to troubleshoot complex to provide required corrective action and improvement
- Drive work vehicles when responding to emergencies and when required on duty
- Support the on-site spare parts management and the repair cycle from/to the site
- Support the preparation of system performance maintenance technical report
- Produce work blocks and Job hazard analysis pertained to planned work
- Conduct job and safety briefing as required
- Perform duties as instructed/directed by Department Manager and the System Engineer
- The role requires to work close proximity to the third rail frequently request Red Tag, LOTOs and hot stick application
- Ensure the execution and collection of all the maintenance records and support the monitoring of the day-to-day maintenance performance
- Ensure conformance to technical specifications and compliance with operational specifications and tolerances (e.g. verifying dimensions and clearances of parts,…)
- Ensure that sufficient materials, tools, and equipment are on hand calibrated and in good condition for maintenance activities
- Early identification of failure trends that may impact fleet availability
- Ensure logs and dump files download from on-site equipment and provide first level of analysis
- Performs related duties as required
- Ensure that the corrective and preventative maintenance tasks are executed in compliance with the company safety policy and local regulations
- Comply with all maintenance procedures and instructions including; safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Execute of the health check procedures before the vehicles are put into service
- Execute and collect of all the maintenance records and support the monitoring of the day-to-day maintenance performance
- Ensure the effective implementation of first-line response maintenance safety standards
- The role requires flexibility and efficiency which require shift rotation, weekends and holidays work typical of major infrastructure projects, and operating transit systems
- Perform additional cross functional job duties on unrelated track and third rail systems included but not limited to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic controlled systems in accordance with training and qualification
- Knowledge of the ATC Systems and equipment
- Associate Degree in Electrical engineering or related field
- 1-3 years’ experience in electronic equipment maintenance
- Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out protection while working on the line and the rules governing the protection of traffic.
- Ability to use and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers' maintenance instructions, Operating Rulebook, etc., and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of PSG system.
- A team player with a strong analytical mind and ability to work independently and in team environment with minimal supervision.
- 2 years’ experience with maintenance and troubleshooting faults on ATC equipment
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and in team environment with minimal supervision
- Able to work under pressure during intense periods of activities
- Ability to demonstrate practical knowledge and problem-solving strategies
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
