We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced O&M Rail Safety Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in safety management systems (SMS) and a working knowledge of regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities
- Participate in the updating and continuous improvement of Safety Management System Programs and Public Transportation Agency Safety Plan (PTASP) in accordance with State Safety Oversight Agency (SSOA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) requirements.
- Provide technical supervision on safety issues of rail-related projects.
- Lead accident investigation teams and recommend corrective actions as necessary.
- Lead the annual review and update of the Rail Accident Investigation Procedure.
- Manage and oversee the Project's Safety Rules Compliance Program.
- Interpret, execute, and recommend changes to established safety policies and procedures.
- Manage and oversee the Rail Internal Safety Audit to comply with SSOA and FTA requirements.
- Maintain and coordinate emergency preparedness standards for Operations and Maintenance.
- Provide leadership and safety direction to Rail Operations and Maintenance.
- Develop and review safety and hazard analyses of Rail Operations and Maintenance and recommend improvements.
- Evaluate, train, counsel, and oversee continuous development of safety initiatives to Rail Operators, Supervisors, Controllers, maintenance personnel, and other personnel involved with rail operations along with any necessary safety performance improvements.
- Assure Rail Operations compliance with applicable safety requirements and regulations including OSHA, FTA, FRA, and the SSOA.
- In conjunction with Operations, update and maintain the Rail Operations Rulebook and SOPs.
- Provide direction for Rail Operations Safety Committee, System Safety Certification Review Committee, Configuration Management Committee, and the Fire and Life Safety Committee.
- Prepare routine and special reports for senior management and Rail Operations division.
- Interface and maintain relationships with other public agencies, rail safety associations, and groups to keep abreast of latest industry trends, regulations, and technologies and to develop and implement safety improvements.
- Provide excellent customer service to Skyline internal and external customers.
- Promote safety awareness and other employee safety procedures in efforts to reduce or eliminate accidents.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
