Summary of the position :
Assemble various tight tolerance air end assemblies for delivery to internal and external customers. Air test and potentially function test product. Utilize assembly drawings, blueprints and work center instructions to ensure conformance to standards. Dial indicators, depth micrometers, standard micrometers, specialized tooling and other tools are employed within the process.
This position is located at Hitachi Global Air Power in Michigan City, Indiana, and reports to the Unit Assembly Production Supervisor.
Duties and responsibilities :
- Work independently or in a team setting to build high quality air ends for internal and OEM customers.
- Use of hand tools, including air and battery powered drills, etc.
- Maintain equipment and submit work orders as appropriate.
- Must be able to lift 35 lbs. and safely operate cranes with proper rigging techniques.
- Wear properly fitting personal protective equipment.
- Problem solve / root cause analysis.
- Engage in computer transactions related to processes that impact inventory control.
- Operate a fork truck or other powered industrial vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Fully engage in sort, straighten, shine, standardize and sustain activities consistently.
