What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meat Associate position at Hitchcock's Markets?
Pay Rate Dependent on Experience
- Observe all store rules and company policies.
- Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe Hitchcock’s dress regulations for the respective position. Must wear an approved hat or hair net.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal health and civil code regulations.
- Assist in receiving and unloading of merchandise. Check and verify meat receiving to ensure that items listed on the vendor invoices are all delivered. Check products for quality, count, and condition.
- Take stock to storage or shelf areas. Rotates product within date and properly displays it.
- Keep manager or other designated personnel notified of low inventory conditions or spoilage problems.
- Wait on customers including slicing, cutting, weighing, packaging, and pricing merchandise.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures and read all Safety Committee bulletins.
- Follow safe food handling procedures.
- Performs routine price changes on meat products.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed.
- Greet all customers and provide them with prompt and courteous service or assistance.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- High school education (or concurrent enrollment in an educational institution) preferred but not required.
