POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Hitchcock Tree Removal is seeking a full-time tree climber/bucket operator/crew lead with at least 3 years experience to work with our hazard tree removal, line clearance and forestry thinning crew. We are locally owned and are looking for individuals who are: responsible, driven, hard-working (in all weather conditions), team player and detail-oriented.
QUALIFICATIONS:
-3 years of climbing or bucket operation experience required
-CDL B preferred
-Has basic tree care knowledge - identification, trimming, pruning, repairing, removing, etc.
-Knowledgeable about the American National Standards for Tree Care Operations (ANSI Z133.1)
-Positive attitude.
-Able to withstand laborious outdoor activity.
-Display a willingness to learn
-Professional and courteous demeanor, and a desire for long-term employment.
-Must show pride in themselves and the work which they perform.
-Must be able to think critically
-Must possess a clean, valid drivers license.
-Must have reliable transportation to and from work starting location
-Must have at least 3 year(s) of experience in tree care operations.
-Preferred experience with operating equipment, but not required
Work Location:
60% Local Work (within 50 miles of Missoula) and 40% travel to greater Western MT region
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Tree climbing/bucket operation for tree trimming and removal
-Ability to follow directions and work independently
-Able to lift in excess of 70 lbs,
-Operate a chainsaw safely, to trim or fell trees/branches.
-Drag and chip brush with crew when not climbing/in bucket
- Operate chipper to dispose of limbs and branches, and cut larger wood into manageable pieces for homeowners
-Set up warning signs, flags and barriers to protect public and employees.
-Relay hand signals and direct traffic when necessary.
-Drive vehicles under 26,000lbs.
-Keep work area and trucks clean and orderly.
-Inspecting and maintenance on all PPE, rigging, and tools or equipment
-Ability to get class B CDL.
-Drive and shift a vehicle with manual transmission.
-Drive and back vehicles towing trailers.
-Assist in the maintenance of equipment.
-Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment. Always work in compliance with HTR’s safety rules while performing all trimming and felling duties
-Must pass background check and drug test.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $33.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 50 per week
