What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Sales Manager position at HitchDoc?
Aggressive leading manufacturer seeks territory sales representative for its Agriculture and Light Industrial product lines in Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota and Iowa. Candidate must have a proven track record in new dealer development and maintaining strong dealer relationships, with several years of successful sales experience in agriculture or construction equipment sales.
Summary Facilitate the development and maintenance of HitchDoc accounts; develop good working knowledge of materials and sources of supply to efficiently describe products to customers and acquire new accounts in order to grow sales volume by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Reports new trends, ideas, issues, products and programs to the company.
- Makes efficient use of company time and resources by performing sales calls to schedule appointments.
- Travels throughout assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders, or talks with customers on sales floor or by phone.
- Focuses on cold calling potential new accounts to offer HitchDoc products.
- Displays or demonstrates product, using samples or catalog, and emphasizes salable features.
- Promotes stocking of HitchDoc products to help facilitate growth for dealer and HitchDoc.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Works with inside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Coordinates dealer training to install confidence in HitchDoc product lines.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries.
- Assists in designing and developing new products using industry ideas and requirements.
- Reports inventory at the dealer level to compare with competitors’ inventory.
- Works to assist customers and dealers any way possible, advertising, literature needs, etc.
- Looks for points of interest on sales calls to personally connect with dealer.
- Attends trade shows (wholesale and retail) to promote stocking and sale of HitchDoc products.
- Requirements
- History of educating and motivating dealers is required. Individual must have a penchant for professional self development.
- Excellent verbal and written and decision making skills, in combination with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment is required. A high achiever with a strong sense of urgency to achieve goals and objectives is a must. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Power Point, Excel spread sheets and Word documents. Extensive travel is expected. Must possess valid driver’s license.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or two or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Those with metal manufacturing knowledge and/or familiarity with agricultural products highly desired.
