Working Procedure:
The following are the usual major job duties, but this job description does not preclude the performance of other duties as assigned by the supervisor:
- Create Product Engineering sample paperwork using computer spreadsheet and word processing programs.
- Gather and sort product and process related information.
- Learn to make metallographic mounts of castings for engineering analysis.
- Coordinate subcontract sample operations.
- Track and expedite tooling.
- Track and expedite engineering experiments.
- Work with the Met lab to get castings etched using various chemicals so that the grain structure for the castings may be examined for engineering analysis.
- Must follow all safety requirements of job as outlined on the job safety card
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
- Complete all paperwork associated with the job. Correctly maintain all forms and instruction sheets
- Maintain a clean and orderly working environment
- Inform your supervisor about problems that occur
- May be required to handle hazardous waste by collecting and transferring the waste into proper containers at satellite storage areas or storage areas and assuring that the containers are properly inspected, labeled, and closed as required. Must follow correct instruction for handling hazardous waste and report any deviations to supervisor immediately. Must attend yearly instruction in hazardous waste handling and review of current procedures if job duties could affect non-compliance.
- Vision requirements of 20/30 near correctable.
- Must have high school level math skills in Algebra and Trigonometr
- Must be able to write technical documents like product criteria (P.C.’s) and standard process method sheets (SPM’s).
- Must be able to generate ECO’s in IQMS.
- Must be able to print reports from IQMS.
- Must be capable on a PC system to work with MS Word and perform data analysis in MS Excel.
- Must be able to read and interpret customer and internally generated drawings and specifications.
- Must be capable of learning computer aided design (CAD) software like SolidWorks and produce working drawings and sketches.
- Must be capable of managing small part projects with limited engineering direction.
- Requires sufficient strength and physical dexterity to frequently lift up to 35 lbs.
- High School Diploma or GED
