We are seeking a professional, experienced Wine and Food Manager to oversee the Hitching Post Wines tasting room and HP2You lunch operations. Enjoy being a part of the Hitching Post workforce family amid some of the most beautiful surroundings on the Central Coast.
The Wine and Food Manager will report directly to the tasting room and restaurant owners to ensure the operation is maintained to the standards set forth.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Oversee the training and day to day operation of the sales and service team, making sure they perform at the highest level of sales, service and hospitality. Lead the team in providing our guests with an exceptional, memorable experience.
Set the standards for a cohesive work environment for the entire tasting room and lunch staff that creates a team minded, happy workplace.
Ensure that staff is educated on the history and brand of both the Restaurant and Winery.
Ensure that staff is fully educated on entrée ingredients and can enthusiastically provide menu inquiries or direction.
Creating and maintaining staff schedules.
Represent the brand in all communication and outreach to Santa Barbara Vintner’s Association, Visit SYV, Buellton Chamber and the like, Including attendance at all meetings, educational events and event registrations.
Educate staff to effectively promote Wine Club to each guest as to increase and maintain membership.
Oversee tasting room and lunch venue to insure the property is clean and well maintained.
Conduct monthly wine and quarterly retail inventories.
Work cohesively with the kitchen manager to insure they are provided with details for scheduled events, large parties, etc.
Maintain a full inventory of wine at the tasting room and arrange for wine movement from the warehouse on a weekly basis.
Work closely with the Wine Club Manager to ensure accuracy and timely preparation and fulfillment of wine shipments and pick up parties.
Work closely with the Event Coordinator to ensure ongoing, inviting event experiences are booked and that the details are in place, including marketing of such events in a timely manner.
Oversee daily opening and closing procedures including cash handling at the beginning and end of the day.
Must have a minimum of 3 years Wine/Food management experience. Must be food and wine knowledgeable. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. and stand for long periods of time. Strong sales ability.
