The Multi-craft Maintenance Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimal downtime. This role requires expertise in both mechanical and electrical maintenance, with a strong focus on industrial automation, PLCs, robotics, and high-speed manufacturing systems. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with servo drives, vision systems, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and industrial networking technologies to support production operations.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and automation-related issues on production and plant equipment efficiently.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, servo drives, industrial robots, and vision systems.
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems, including motors, relays, drives, 3-phase power, and communication devices.
- Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems used in manufacturing processes.
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals for troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform root-cause analysis and corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
- Use CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work, track maintenance activities, and report failures.
- Assist in continuous improvement projects, modifications, and equipment upgrades.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required (Technical degree or certifications in industrial maintenance, mechatronics, or a related field preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining industrial machinery in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with experience in PLCs, automation, and robotic systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair servo drives, industrial sensors, power transmission systems, and industrial networking (Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, etc.).
- Proficiency in using hand tools, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to perform basic fabrication, welding, and machining when necessary.
- Strong understanding of lockout/tagout (LOTO), NFPA 70E electrical safety, and OSHA regulations.
- Must be comfortable working overtime and flexible shifts as needed to support operations.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various industrial environments (heights, confined spaces, hot/cold conditions).
