Our company is seeking a Physical Design Engineer to work for one of our client in the Bay Area.
Role Description
This is a contract remote role for a Physical Design Engineer. The Physical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing the physical layout of integrated circuits, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design requirements are met, and optimizing chip performance. The role involves working on various aspects of the physical design flow, such as floor planning, placement, routing, and physical verification.
Qualifications
- Lead the physical design implementation for SOC projects using Synopsys tools like Fusion Compiler, ICC2, DC and DCG.
- Apply UPF methodologies for managing multi-voltage power domains and power grid verification.
- Perform DFT implementation, including scan insertion , TDF and MEMBIST
- Proficiency in EDA tools such as Cadence Innovus, Synopsys ICC, or Mentor Graphics Calibre
- Experience in RTL to GDS flow, physical synthesis, and static timing analysis
- Strong understanding of semiconductor process technology and VLSI design concepts
- Knowledge of low power design techniques and methodologies
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize designs for area, power, and performance
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python is a plus
