Associate, Corporate Accounting
Job Description
HITT is looking for a Corporate Accounting Associate for our Fall Church location to join our dynamic team. This position will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis. The new team member will report to the Corporate Accounting Manager. Below are the attributes and competencies of a qualified candidates:
Responsibilities
- Ability to analyze accounts, identify reconciling items and work towards timely resolutions.
- Assist with month-end close activities including accurate and timely preparation of journal entries.
- Prepare account reconciliations of the balance sheet and related sub-ledgers over areas of responsibility.
- Effective communication and collaboration with other team members within Corporate Accounting, Project Accounting, and other groups as needed.
- Special or Ad Hoc projects as required.
- Bachelor of Science in Accounting and/or Finance
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of accounting or operations experience
- Basic knowledge and understanding of accounting and finance principles, including working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi-task are critical to success.
- Must be able to function as part of a team in a fast-paced, growing, dynamic environment.
- Experience with Oracle, JD Edwards or other comparable ERP solutions including analytical tools (BI) Proficient in all Microsoft programs, especially Excel.
- Having a willingness to learn new things and opened to change.
- Time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
