What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSP position at Hive?
Direct Support Professions
Assists individuals with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding). Leads individuals in
educational and recreational activities.
Report any physical or behavioral signs that are important to the supervisor.
Warm or prepare meals and prepare snacks for individuals
Assist individuals with personal care.
The DSP is responsible for the daily supervision and safety of all individuals, including
responding to the physical, psychological, medical, spiritual, emotional, and developmental needs
of everyone;
The DSP supports and promotes a clean and healthy environment for all individuals.
Provides written and verbal feedback necessary to plan, develop, implement, and further the
advancement of everyone;
Works closely with designated individuals to guide and support him/her in accomplishing behavioral,
personal, vocational, educational, and social skills.
The DSP is required to use the vehicle to transport individuals as needed;
Helps prepare individuals for meals, scheduled groups and activities, outings etc.
Must be able to provide hands on care for individuals that need assistance.
Behavior experience is required.
Attendance at staff meetings is mandatory.
