We are seeking a Financial Data Analyst to support our client's finance department by processing financial transactions, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working with financial data in a business or university environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Transactions: Enter purchase requisitions, travel authorizations, and invoices into the finance system.
- Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze budget balance reports, expenditure tracking, and financial statements as needed.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Process electronic payments (ACH, direct deposit, etc.), verify vendor compliance and manage outstanding invoices.
- Deposit Management: Handle daily deposits, including remote processing and secure bank deliveries when necessary.
- Audit Support: Assist in preparing documentation for audits and maintaining financial compliance.
- Administrative Support: Provide coverage for front office duties, support administrative staff, and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or business office environment (higher education experience is a plus).
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) required.
- Experience with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Raiser's Edge, or similar tools) is a plus.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with financial reporting and data analysis.
- Knowledge of university or nonprofit financial operations (if applicable).
