What are the responsibilities and job description for the Digital Press Operator - 2nd Shift position at HKM Direct Market Communications?
Summary: Operate and maintain multiple laser printing devices.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Operating and maintain the digital laser (xerox) and working with field service representatives in person and over the phone, while doing so with an awareness of machine operating safety (including the need for various safety equipment) and the proper disposal of waste materials in accordance with city and state laws.
· Printing monochrome digital jobs and maintaining good quality (including consistent color and the importance of maintaining sequential number on jobs containing variable data) and working with Account Service Representatives to ensure good communication concerning the client needs.
· Working with all departments both prior to the printing process (pre-press and data programming) and afterwards (all aspects of bindery and job finishing).
· Must be able to lift finished stacks of printed material as well as blank stock when loading the press.
· Must be able to operate a cutter in order to occasionally trim stock to size for printing.
· Work clothing is a requirement due to the nature of various inks and chemicals used in the printing process which may occasionally cause permanent stains.
· Run systems backup. Move stock. Occasionally file and/or perform bindery work. Running scheduled jobs.
· Visually checking quality and output. Packing and sending jobs to bindery and shipping.
· Experience running with color printing.
· Willing to help mailing department as needed.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); multiple months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Should be mechanically inclined.
