Position Summary:
Hillwood Energy is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing team in Fort Worth, Texas. This role is responsible for preparing periodic financial statements, footnote disclosures, and other financial reports while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and professional accounting standards. The Senior Accountant will also collaborate with various teams across Hillwood Energy, including Finance, Treasury, and Financial Planning & Analysis, on reporting projects and ad hoc data analyses. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a drive to improve and promote financial quality and efficiency across Hillwood Energy’s diverse business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial statements, footnote disclosures, and reports for multiple entities.
- Conduct quarterly balance sheet and income statement analyses for various entities.
- Prepare and review recurring reports and supporting schedules, including roll forwards for notes payable, contingent liabilities, notes receivable, and other financial statement support schedules.
- Ensure compliance with lender covenants by preparing and reviewing quarterly calculations and cover letters.
- Ensure data integrity through reconciliation and other analyses during the reporting development process.
- Optimize financial reporting processes and improve data accessibility for more timely and effective reporting.
- Develop insightful, data-driven reporting solutions by critically evaluating stakeholder needs and identifying opportunities to enhance existing reporting.
- Assist in annual audit engagements, including finalizing the statement of work, coordinating audit support, and overseeing the process.
- Support process improvements, internal controls, and IT implementations related to accounting applications.
- Perform ad hoc data analysis as requested by various teams and management.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
- CPA license is preferred.
- 2-3 years of experience in accounting or finance required.
- At least 2 years of public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience in oil & gas and partnership accounting preferred.
