Overview:
HKS is in search of the 2025 HKS Equitable Impact Fellow.This exciting opportunity is a paid 8week fellowship in one of our U.S. offices where a student will be able to work within HKS’ diverse portfolio and may be involved in all aspects of the design process. The Fellow will have the opportunity to contribute to billable client projects while strengthening their architectural skillset (e.g., design, technical and research). This fellowship may include a research component (up to, but not to exceed, 33% of total internship time).
The expected start date is June 2, 2025.
This fellowship is available to all current HBCU students and NOMA student members working to obtain a professional degree from an accredited architecture program.

Responsibilities:
- With close supervision, the Equitable Impact Fellow will work with project teams to modify documents and drawings with detailed instructions regarding tasks and expected results
- Performs work in a manner that demonstrates an appreciation for the firm’s cultural norms, including a commitment to quality, innovation, learning and growth
- Helps compile data and conducts research for the project team
- Assists with the preparation of presentations and performing basic analytical tasks for team/client review as needed
- Collaborates with team members and may work on multiple projects
- Participates in officewide initiatives and/or intern specific projects with presentations
- Develop skills in fostering and maintaining collaborative professional working relationships with the project team and others
- Performs architectural assignments as needed; some overtime may be required
Qualifications:
- Currently earning a professional degree from an accredited Architecture program (e.g., B. Arch, M. Arch)
- 3.25 GPANOMA Student Member and/or HBCU Student
- Working knowledge of Revit
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ability to effectively meet deadlines
- Working knowledge of presentation tools including Adobe Creative Suite, preferred
- Working knowledge of 3D modeling tools, such as Rhino3D, SketchUp, Lumion, etc. preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred

Base Salary Range: $64K - 75K – Washington DC only
