- Maintain and update financial records, ensuring that all transactions are accurately recorded in the company’s general ledger.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are paid in a timely manner and payments are accurately recorded. Follow up on outstanding payments and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accounted for and there are no discrepancies between company records and bank statements.
- Prepare and post journal entries to reflect financial transactions, adjustments, and corrections in the general ledger.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist with the month-end and year-end closing process, including preparing necessary documentation, ensuring accuracy, and reconciling all accounts.
- Ensure the accuracy of tax filings and assist in preparing tax returns (sales tax, income tax, etc.) as required by local, state, and federal authorities.
- Provide documentation and assist with internal and external audits. Ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial records for audit purposes.
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Provide reports and analysis to management to support financial planning and decision-making.
- Monitor and report on operational expenses and help identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Recommend improvements for internal controls and accounting processes.
- Support treasury functions, including account set up, SAP firm banking entry, and daily Bank reconciliation/closing
- Train team members on finance system usage
- Assist with any ad hoc accounting tasks, special projects, or financial analyses as needed.
- Utilize the Expense Reporting System (ERS)
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 1 years of experience in a related field, preferably in manufacturing or automotive environments
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP) and general business software (excel)
- Knowledge with Federal and State tax laws pertaining to manufacturing are a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train and influence others
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
