Summary
This position is responsible for two parts (Smart Factory Engineer, Vision Engineer).
Firstly, Smart Factory engineer is to build a manufacturing intelligence system in the battery factory. In particular, you will build and manage intelligent systems such as automatic calibration, battery cell traceability system, and ROS (Remote Operation system).
Secondly, Vision Inspection Engineer sets up Computer Vision based Inspection machine and performs performance improvement and maintenance to support the prevention of quality issue in advance and maximize outputs (Yield, OEE).
Responsibilities (Smart Factory Engineer)

Responsibilities (Smart Factory Engineer)
- Reviewing and implementing applications of Smart Factory system based on the latest technology.
- Project management and deployment of key Smart Factory systems i.e. Remote Operation System, Autonomous Calibration, Product Traceability and Preventive Maintenance etc.
- Planning strategies to improve equipment efficiency and availability based on automation (via PLC – Programmable Logic Controller) and manufacturing IT systems.
- Conduct regular cadence meeting (weekly or monthly) to discuss issues/progress/achievement of the smart factory projects with parent headquarters of Korea.
- Smart Factory Systems Investment & Operation Budget management
- Others as directed
- Install vision system machine, make schedule for installation equipment, distribute schedule to production teams, HQ, and vendors
- Inspection machine PM management (inspection machine maintenance/performance management / Vision Spare Parts)
- Submit daily production reports on improvements and KPIs which is distributed to production teams and HQ
- Inspection equipment improvement activities such as accuracy and detection performance
- Establishment of inspection information management system
- Expansion of equipment and dissemination/application of new technologies for inspection
- Review/plan of inspection machine model development and model change
- Develop technician skill and improvement plan and implementing
- Establishment and management of inspection machine standards
- Establishment and revision of PFD, BM/PM/PD Manual
- Compliance with health/safety/environmental/ fire regulations
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Bachelor's Degree required, Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics) are preferred
- Bachelor's Degree required, Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering) are preferred
- Computer Vision/Machine Vision related major are preferred
- In-depth understanding of set up and maintain for SW-developed intelligent system. (0 to 3 years of professional experience is preferred)
- Previous experience with data visualization tool such as Spotfire, Power BI etc.
- In-depth understanding of Computer Vision/Machine Vision system. (0 to 3 years of professional experience is preferred)
- Proficient to use PC, MS Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint]
- Ability to use data visualization tool such as Spotfire, Power BI etc
- IT System maintenance skill for SW/HW trouble shooting
- Ability to review and modify smart factory systems via Python, C# and PLC program
- Ability to communicate technical details both verbally and in writing
- Self-motivated, strong accountability and enthusiastic learner for dedicated Smart Factory or Vision Inspection systems and foundation technologies (PLC, Machine Learning, Network, Vision inspection etc.), with keen attention to details
- Ability to work across multi-cultural environment and global distributed projects
- Strong analytical skills for root causes analysis when issue occurs and problem-solving skills by managing cross-functional team
- Knowledge and experience of Factory Automation (Programmable Logic Controller, Python, C#, Data Analytics, Feature Engineering etc.) and project management (schedule & task progress management)
- Experience of data analysis using Spotfire with manufacturing data base
- Experience of manufacturing Vision System handle and maintenance
- Bilingual skills, writing and speaking, in English and Korean preferred
