What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Engineer position at HL Mando America Corp?
Job Purpose:
This position involves conducting quality improvement activities by investigating root causes for warranty return parts, preparing reports, presenting finding to customers, monitoring claim data, and analyzing claim trends to minimize warranty costs
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
- Performing warranty parts investigations with suppliers, G1 plant members, and engineering teams collaborating through the JIRA system
- Collaborating with global HL Mando quality teams and suppliers to conduct investigations, align standards, and share best practices across regions (US, China, Korea).
- Use Performance Test Stands to evaluate various performance features of steering gears
- Use Power Pack Dyno Tester to evaluate performance of motor
- Use High Frequency Digital Oscilloscopes, Multimeters, for testing and debugging
- Utilize CT machines to perform high-precision inspections, analyze internal structures, and ensure product quality through advanced imaging techniques
- Monitors claim trends and identify specific failure modes to proactively address quality issues
- Review and approve warranty invoices, and process them in accordance with internal company procedures
- Creating investigation report and updating throughout investigation
- Prepare monthly reports for upper management by analyzing warranty trends, costs, and investigation updates, and input data into the Mando quality management system
- Responding to customer needs and inquiries via the customer portal and leading warranty meetings to ensure customer satisfaction
- Initiate non-conforming reports (NCRs) of warranty return part and follow NCRs through closure
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or related field
- Strong analytical skills to resolve quality issues using methods such as FMEA, 8D, and FTA, while implementing corrective actions to ensure quality compliance
- Understand manufacturing quality management environment
- Be able to travel in the USA and abroad as required
Technical Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint
- Interpret circuit diagrams and PCB layouts to analyze warranty parts and identify root causes of issues (Required)
- Proficiency in using Vector CAN tools such as CANape, CANoe, and CANalyzer for measurement, data logging, and simulation tasks (Preferred)
Non-Technical Competencies:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interface effectively for problem solution
- Must be a self-directed, results driven individual with the ability to effectively drive issues/problems to closure
