We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled City Planner to join our team. As a Planner, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our client communities by developing and implementing comprehensive plans, policies, and programs. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including government officials, community members, and other professionals, to ensure that our clients continue to thrive and evolve.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and analysis on land use, zoning, transportation, and environmental impact.
  • Develop and implement city plans, policies, and programs in alignment with community goals.
  • Collaborate with government agencies, community groups, and private developers to ensure coordinated and sustainable development.
  • Evaluate development proposals and provide recommendations to regulatory bodies.
  • Lead community engagement initiatives to gather input and feedback from residents.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging issues in urban planning.
  • Assist the Senior Planner and Engineering staff with TIP/STIP tracking for municipal clients; Preparation of Transportation, Capital Facilities, Safety, RCO, and other Plans/Elements of our client’s Comprehensive Plans; Research, prepare, and present funding strategies for client projects; Review and summarize potential available funding opportunities; Travel demand modeling and traffic count analysis services; SEPA process and documentation, and other processes and projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Urban Planning, Geography, Architecture, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in municipal planning or a related field.
  • Familiarity with municipal comprehensive planning concepts and public meeting processes.
  • Strong knowledge of land use regulations, annexation, and zoning codes.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in researching municipal code and navigating municipal ordinances.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Motivated, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical municipal and other governing entities’ rules, regulations, and code.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and technical ability to self-learn applicable industry software.

Compensation for this position ranges from $5,800 to $8,500 per month depending on experience and number of hours worked.
