Fabrication Tech - Bonding

Description

Job Summary:  Pre-fits and cleans up metal-to-metal bonded and composites parts in accordance with customer and company specifications and requirements while following company policies and using of proper personal protective equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                                                                                                     

1. Pre-fits metal-to-metal parts per tooling to desired specifications.
2. Checks work using special gauge instruments to ensure specified tolerances are maintained.
3. Reads planning and utilizes tolling in fabricated parts.
4. Visually inspects parts for foreign object damage (F.O.D) prior to bagging parts.
5. Removes parts from tooling without causing damage.
6. Cleans parts as required.
7. Performs daily audit of oven.
8. Trims parts as required to meet specifications.
9. Pots or edge fills as required to meet specifications.
10. Records job information in ERP system.
11. Inspects work pieces for defects.
12. Properly documents travelers, process logs, recorder charts and tank information.
13. Maintains clean work area, tools and equipment.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.

1. Previous related experience preferred.
2. Must be able to wear proper personal protective equipment.
3. Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
4. Must be able to accurately read shop traveler instructions.
5. Ability to safely use hand tools.
6. Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds with assistance.
7. Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to specifications.
8. Team player with a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, professional environment.
9. Ability to communicate verbally in one-on-one situations with management and co-workers; listen to others without interrupting and get clarification when needed.
10. Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding to supervisor’s direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.
11. Ability to follow priorities and plan work activities; use time efficiently; and work within deadlines.
