Job Summary
HMA Contracting Corp is a construction firm located in Schaghticoke, NY. We are seeking a full-time Accounting Assistant for both the construction office and real estate bookkeeping role.
Responsibilities
Construction Role
- Pickup and sort mail
- Payable check mailing
- Processing lien releases
- Accounts Payable backup
- Answer phones
- Sort, distribute, and file paperwork
- Credit Card entry
- Office supply inventory and ordering
- Assist with other office duties to streamline operations
Real Estate Role
- Enter bills
- Print and mail checks
- Enter tenant payments
- Enter security deposits
- Return security deposits
- Bank deposits
- Enter loan payments
- Update property ledgers as needed
- Monthly credit card reconciliation, entry, and payment
- Sort mail
- Email tenant communications to property manager
- Other office duties as required
Qualifications
- Must have strong computer skills in MS Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a construction company or real estate bookkeeping
Experience and Education
- Associate’s degree in business administration or accounting
- 5 years’ experience working in an accounting office role
- Combination of above experience and/or education
Schedule
Monday through Friday, flexible hours
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
