Job Description:
We are looking to add a Financial Consultant to join our Employee Benefits team in Kansas City, MO. Offering a forward-thinking, innovative, and vibrant company culture, along with the opportunity to share your unique potential, there really is no place like Holmes!
Essential Responsibilities:
- Runs and analyzes client monthly financial reporting (MFSR) and presents MFSRs to clients.
- Provides intermediate-level financial reporting and presents results to clients.
- Works independently and/or under senior team member's guidance to assist with client budget modeling as needed.
- Recommends basic strategic and tactical initiatives based upon clinical and financial data.
- Analyzes IBNR results with senior team member oversight.
- Attends client meetings with occasional day and overnight travel required.
- Articulates how emerging market conditions impact client health and welfare plans from a cost and clinical perspective.
- Articulates employee benefit related compliance regulations, particularly as it pertains to client financial and budget needs.
- Articulates plan designs, funding arrangements, benefit/demographic adjustments, stop-loss insurance, out of network savings arrangements.
- Project management of intermediate financial/reporting/H&W benefits projects.
- Performs special projects and other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred.
- Experience: 3-5 years applicable experience, preferably in the insurance industry [at a brokerage or provider organization].
- Licensing: Active state specific Life & Health Insurance agent’s license required or the ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
- Skills & Technical Competencies: Key skills for effective client consulting include a solid grasp of insurance principles to meet strategic needs, strong client management to prioritize and deliver impactful solutions, and sharp analytical abilities to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
