Job Description:

Primary Skill

• leading data governance implementations (retail experience is a plus)
• driving data democratization and self-service through a data catalog
• Creating deeper trust in data with industry standard data quality checks and monitoring
• Leveraging modern, advanced data quality approaches
• Deep experience working with Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) and Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) is a must have (experience with other informatica services is a plus)
• Experience driving enterprise stewardship frameworks and creating/managing data governance councils.
• Experience with Azure cloud platform

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Define and implement data governance best practices for Azure Cloud. This includes developing policies and procedures for data lineage, classification, access control, data masking, and encryption.
• Design and implement best practices for data governance, ensuring the highest level of data quality, integrity, and accessibility across Azure Cloud services.
• Develop and maintain governance policies and procedures for Informatica, Databricks, Oracle, Delta Lake, Real-time Data, Kafka, etc.
• Lead the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) efforts, establishing a robust and agile development cycle.
• Collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders to manage data governance initiatives across a large-scale organization.
• Handle and maintain data governance strategies for petabyte-scale data assets.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and privacy standards across all data operations.
• Develop and implement data classification, access control, and encryption standards to enhance data security.
• Guide the team on API management and replication tool management, ensuring efficient data integration and replication.
• Monitor and report on data governance metrics. This will help to track the effectiveness of data governance practices and identify areas for improvement.

Skillset Needed:

• Extensive experience in data governance with proficiency in Azure Cloud Services.
• Strong knowledge of Informatica, Databricks, Oracle, Delta Lake, Real-time Data, and Kafka, with a focus on their governance best practices.
• Sound experience in governing CI/CD pipelines, particularly for the mentioned technologies.
• Excellent collaboration and leadership skills, with a track record of managing data governance initiatives in large organizations.
• Experience in managing petabyte-scale data, with a focus on governance, security, and quality.
• Expertise in the retail domain and understanding of its data management needs.
• Proficient in API management and replication tool management.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex data governance issues.
• Familiarity with industry regulations and privacy standards.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Prior experience in implementing data encryption and data masking techniques to enhance data security.
• Proficiency in various data lifecycle management strategies including data retention and archiving policies.
• Familiarity with various compliance standards like CCPA and GDPR.
• Should be able to work independently and as part of a team and meet deadlines.
