General Summary:
The Cost Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accounting systems for all legal entities. The Cost Accountant also works with the Accounting Manager to manage all company cash flow and reconciling all bank accounts. Other Responsibilities include: review of general ledger accounts for irregularities, prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports for all legal entities, include analyzing trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred in order to predict future financial performance. Offers suggestions about resource utilization, profit maximization, tax strategies, and assists with assumptions underlying budgets, forecasts, and projections.
Main Responsibilities:
- Assist with schedules and journal entries for preparation of monthly financial reporting for all legal entities
- Perform treasury functions including bank reconciliations, cash positioning debt reporting, debt compliance and bank relations for all legal entities.
- Perform general ledger, banking, lease, and contract reconciliations
- Responsible for the recording of monthly Patient revenue and receivable
- Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and various financial reports on a monthly basis
- Analyzes financial information. Develops and recommends methods for efficient use of resources and procedures, provides strategic recommendations and solutions to business and financial problems.
- Perform analyses of trends of company costs, revenues, financial commitments, etc to predict future financial performance
- Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors
- Report finances to management and offer suggestions as necessary
- Assists Accounts Payable team and reviews payables for payments and for validity
- Provide training and guidance to junior members of staff.
- Ensure that contract specifications, performance statements, performance requirements and financial information is in compliance with the contract terms
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager, Controller and CFO as needed to forecast business opportunities based on contracts, business research and make appropriate revisions to budget
- Analyze and graph statistical information related to contract development and financial impact analysis, provide in reports to the CFO
- Perform financial analysis as needed for financing and capital needs opportunities
Education/Experience/Knowledge:
- BS in Finance, Accounting or Statistics
- 5-10 years’ experience in Accounting, Finance or Analytics
