The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Managed Care is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic development and growth of Hackensack Meridian Health's (HMH) managed care contracting network. This encompasses hospitals, wholly owned and joint venture (JV) partner companies and employed physicians. The SVP will provide executive oversight for all aspects of managed care contracting, including fee-for-service and value-based arrangements, driving innovation in payment policy and optimizing revenue generation. This role requires a deep understanding of the evolving healthcare landscape and the ability to negotiate favorable contracts with payers while fostering collaborative relationships across HMH entities. The SVP will also champion the development and implementation of value-based contracting strategies, ensuring optimal contract performance and financial sustainability across the network. This includes overseeing underpayment and denial recovery efforts and collaborating with care management and physician advisors on continuous process improvement.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience in managed care contracting within a complex healthcare system.
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiations with major payers.
- Deep understanding of value-based care models, population health management, and healthcare reimbursement methodologies.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present complex information to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex negotiations, achieving favorable outcomes for the organization.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Google Suite platforms.
