The Genetic Counselor functions in clinical, research, and educational capacities for medical genetics services across the network.
Qualifications:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Master's degree from an American Board of Genetic counseling (ABGC) accredited genetic counseling program.
- Maintains board eligibility and, once board certified, fulfills CEU requirements.
- NJ Genetic Counseling License must be renewed every two years.
- Eligible for Certification by American Board of Genetic Counseling. Must pass boards within 2 years of hire.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Bilingual in Spanish.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- NJ State Genetic Counselor License.
