HMM is seeking a detail-oriented Pricing Analyst to manage ocean freight contracts, ensuring compliance with company standards and FMC regulations. In this role, you'll respond quickly to rate requests, monitor contract performance, and track key metrics in your region. You’ll also generate regular reports and adapt to changing market conditions. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide rate quotes for Transpacific Eastbound shipments (Asia to USA/Canada) in your region
- Understand and apply company and customer contract requirements when bidding
- Maintain company standards for timely completion of all tasks
- Respond to business bids as directed by management
- Provide sales with rate feedback and insights
- Stay updated on market trends, rate changes, and external feedback
- Ensure successful booking performance and rate requests
- Ensure contracts comply with FMC regulations and company standards
- Assist other pricing teams as needed
- Be available for overtime during contract negotiation periods.
- Troubleshoot and maintain accounts as required
- Coordinate with other departments to complete tasks
- Collaborate with sales to finalize terms, conditions, and rates for contracts
- Assist in training sales teams to improve job processes
- Learn through hands-on training and experience
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Experience
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field (preferred).
Experience:
- 2 years in pricing analysis, contract management, or a related role within the transportation and logistics industry (ocean carriers, global logistics, or international trade (3PL) preferred.
- Requires 2 years of experience in the shipping industry or related analytical field
Essential Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a deep understanding of pricing strategies, ocean freight operations, and shipping industry terminology (freight rates, shipping lines, ports, carriers, logistics).
- Familiarity with FMC regulations, international trade laws, tariffs, and customs regulations, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools; experience with pricing and contract management systems is a plus.
- Strong data handling skills, with the ability to interpret and leverage data for pricing optimization and decision-making.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing market conditions, customer needs, and business requirements. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Highly detail-oriented and organized, with a focus on accuracy in data management and reporting.

Additional Details:
The pay range listed for this position is the anticipated starting salary or wage range, and the final offered rate will be based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions. HMM employee benefits include highly subsidized individual and family insurance coverage (medical, dental and vision), term life and disability insurance, 401(k) employer matching contributions, paid holidays, and up to 10 vacation days and six sick days in the first year.
