HMM is on the hunt for an enthusiastic Inside Sales Representative to join our team! In this exciting role, you’ll engage with clients through phone calls and emails, following up on sales leads and making occasional cold calls. You’ll work closely with Account Executives to drive business growth and secure new opportunities. Key Responsibilities:
- Connecting with customers primarily via email and phone, with occasional face-to-face meetings.
- Creating, updating, and reviewing service contracts in collaboration with key contract holders.
- Working closely with the pricing and trade teams to ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing and rates.
- Reviewing operating system menus in detail to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues.
- Managing rate inquiries and new opportunities, ensuring the right teams are involved.
- Following up on pending issues to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.
- Assisting with daily reports for Account Executives to ensure no opportunities are missed.
- Tracking daily bookings, addressing rating issues, and resolving system glitches.
- Taking on additional tasks as needed to support the team’s success.
Required Skills & Experience
- Education: High School diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, global logistics, or maritime is preferred
- Experience: Preferred 1-3 years of experience in ocean freight, supply-chain management, or global logistics.

- Shipping Knowledge: Any experience with ocean shipping, either imports or exports, is highly beneficial

- Clear Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues effectively
- Organized and Detail-Oriented: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and think clearly under pressure

- Proficient in using MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Additional Details:
The pay range listed for this position is the anticipated starting salary or wage range, and the final offered rate will be based on individual merit and the relative compensation of employees in similar positions. HMM employee benefits include highly subsidized individual and family insurance coverage (medical, dental and vision), term life and disability insurance, 401(k) employer matching contributions, paid holidays, and up to 10 vacation days and six sick days in the first year.
