Job Description:
Drywall Installation and Finishing:
- Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets to walls and ceilings.
- Install drywall to the highest standards, ensuring smooth, seamless surfaces.
- Finish drywall by taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing to prepare for painting or wallpapering.
Carpentry:
- Perform framing, installation of doors, windows, and cabinetry.
- Construct and repair fixtures like shelving or partitions.
- Read and interpret blueprints or drawings to understand the layout of the project.
- Associated Trades:
- Assist with basic plumbing and electrical tasks as required by the project scope.
- Work with materials like wood, metal, and composite materials.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site, adhering to all safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Follow project specifications, blueprints, and instructions from supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and team members.
- Ensure that all work is completed to meet or exceed industry standards.
- Use and maintain tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Attend all required safety meetings and adhere to company safety protocols.
- Manage time efficiently to meet project deadlines.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in drywall installation and finishing.
- Solid background in carpentry, particularly in commercial settings.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents like blueprints.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle heavy materials and work in various conditions.
- Knowledge of construction best practices and safety standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; trade school or apprenticeship in related fields preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
