- To manage the rehabilitation (rehab) department at the facility level in accordance with all current applicable state and federal guidelines and regulations to ensure quality, efficient, and outcome based resident care.
- Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college or university in one of the therapy disciplines (PTA, OT or SLP); Associates degree in PTA or OTA.
- Holder of current state licensure in specific discipline.
- Clinical knowledge obtained from an accredited PT, PTA, OT, or SLP program.
- Working knowledge of PPS, Medicare, and Managed Care programs; OBRA, OSHA, and state regulatory agency requirements.
- Knowledge of state PT, OT, and ST practice acts.
- Two to three years of clinical experience, with geriatric experience preferred.
- Knowledge of the health care needs of the skilled nursing facility resident and others in need of rehabilitation and other providers of health care services.
- Knowledge of reimbursement services in long term care, hospital and outpatient settings.
- Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and the willingness to work with and supervise other personnel.
- Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels; requires excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must create and maintain a climate for open communication among all disciplines and all departments.
