What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art and Ceramics Teacher position at HMS?
Looking for an enthusiastic and talented artist who is amazing at his her craft AND who loves sharing his or her talent with others.
We are a summer camp in the heart of Bridgehampton, NY, July 14-18 and July 21-25, offering students - tweens, teens, and adults - camps and classes in acrylic painting, watercolor painting, and ceramics. The ideal candidate will have experience in all three area. That said we understand your knowledge may be more significant in one area.
The ideal artist/teacher will be able to:
- Develop and implement art lesson plans for students of various ages and skill levels
- Teach students various art techniques, including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media
- Provide guidance and feedback to students to help them improve their artistic skills
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and self-expression
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into interdisciplinary projects
- Organize and display student artwork for exhibitions or showcases
- Stay up-to-date with current trends and developments in the art world
Requirements:
- Passion for teaching and inspiring creativity in others
- Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of art history, techniques, and materials
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with students of all ages
- Excellent classroom management skills to maintain a productive learning environment

Pay: $750.00 - $1,100.00 per week
